Accessibility statement

Marbò Florence (Marbo di Mannolini Alessandro) treats the accessibility of this website as part of the service, not as paperwork. This page sets out where we stand: what works, what does not, and who to contact.

Conformance status

marboflorence.com is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA, the standard referenced by the European norm EN 301 549. “Partially conformant” means most of the content meets the standard, with the exceptions listed below.

We follow this standard voluntarily. Marbò Florence is a micro-enterprise and is not among the parties required to comply under Italian Legislative Decree 82/2022, which implements the European Accessibility Act, nor under Law 4/2004 (the “Stanca Law”), which applies to public bodies and private companies with an average turnover above 500 million euro. We chose to follow the standard anyway.

What we have done

• Colour contrast: the site palette was revised so that text and buttons exceed the 4.5:1 contrast ratio required at level AA.
• Alternative text: content images carry a text description for screen reader users.
• Heading structure: each page has a single main heading and an ordered hierarchy, so navigating by headings stays predictable.
• Keyboard navigation: interactive elements can be reached with the Tab key and show a clearly visible focus outline.
• Reduced motion: visitors who have enabled reduced motion in their operating system see no transitions or effects.
• Zoom: content remains readable and usable when the page is enlarged up to 200%.
• Declared language: every page declares its language, Italian or English, so screen readers pronounce it correctly.

Non-accessible content

The limitations we are aware of involve third-party components: we embed them in the site, but the code is not ours and we cannot modify it. Accessibility of these tools is the responsibility of the companies that build and distribute them. Where we can, we offer an alternative.

• Booking engine (WuBook): the calendar and booking form are an external service with its own code and styling. If you run into difficulty, you can book by phone or email and we will handle it for you, at the same rate.
• Cookie banner and preferences panel (iubenda): the interface and wording are generated by the provider.
• Interactive map (Google Maps): the map belongs to Google. Next to it you will still find the full address and written directions for arriving on foot, by tram, by car and from the airport.
• PDF documents: some informational attachments, such as museum opening times and maps, come from external bodies and are not structured for screen readers. If you need the content of one of these documents, write to us and we will send it in a readable format.
• Review portal logos: these are images supplied by the portals themselves, which we cannot rework.

Accessibility of the property

The property occupies the first and second floors of a historic building at Via Luigi Alamanni 25 (black street number). The building has a lift, but it only stops at the second floor: to reach the reception on the first floor you need to climb one flight of stairs. The property may therefore present accessibility barriers for guests with reduced mobility.

We prefer to say so upfront and plainly. If you have specific mobility needs, write or call us before booking: we will tell you honestly whether the property suits your situation.

We reply within 5 working days. As this site does not fall under the obligations of Law 4/2004, the complaint procedure before the Italian Digital Ombudsman does not apply here: we handle reports directly.

How we assessed the site

The assessment is an internal self-evaluation, carried out by reviewing the main pages of the site: colours and contrast, alternative text, heading hierarchy, keyboard navigation, forms and behaviour on small screens. No certified audit by an external body has been carried out; when one is, we will update this page with the result.

We review this statement whenever the site changes significantly.
